I Luv It makes hand-crafted all-natural deodorants. They offer gentle invigorating scents, and some pretty rockstar scents, that subdue odours all day without the use of overpowering perfumes or dangerous chemicals. Meet Kristin Sayn, the owner of I Luv It, and learn a little more about her brand!
What inspired you to launch your brand?
When I was breastfeeding my 2nd son, 9 years ago, I was up in the middle of the night, feeding him, and I read an article linking nasty unwanted chemicals from commercial brand deodorants leaking into breastmilk. Because the armpit is so close to all those milk ducts and auxiliary glands, that if we didn’t secret those toxins through our lymphatic drainage (the armpit/lymph nodes) they discovered, that there was a possibility, that these chemicals absorbed into the surrounding tissues and potentially your breastmilk. Not only that, but I also really wanted to start living cleaner and more natural all around in our everyday life, to nourish and protect the one vessel we have for our entire life. I want to teach my kids to live green and healthy too, I believe it is very important, and the way of the future.
WHY DO YOU THINK IT’S IMPORTANT TO PRACTICE SELF-CARE, EVEN FROM HOME, AND WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU DO IT?
I think it’s important to practice self-care for many reasons. Mental health reasons are the top of my list. Takin care of yourself in turn can make your whole persona more positive. Being the best you, ultimately in the long run, makes for the best life. Just taking even 3 minutes is all it takes to feel just that much better. It doesn’t have to be much, I think we feel it needs to br grand and take so much effort and time, but it does not.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU DO EVERY MORNING THAT’S REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR SELF-CARE ROUTINE?
I try in the morning to at least apply DEO LOL, brush my hair and teeth, and have a cup of coffee while it is still hot! I also mentally try and sit and appreciate my life, everyone in it and how blessed we are. I am really trying to work on self reflection and appreciation.
WHY IS YOUR PRODUCT DIFFERENT FROM ANYTHING ELSE ON THE MARKET FOR WELLNESS GOODS?
There are so many brands out there nowadays, and what I feel makes ours different and stand out, is that we have really kept true to a natural, clean and simple formula, only 6 ingredients and you can actually pronounce them all! No long misleading words! We also believe on keeping our bodies clean and the earth and have spent almost a year evolving our packaging into 100% recyclable, compostable and biodegradable. Also printed with Vegan dyes! We offer two formulas, one with baking soda and a sensitive formula that’s baking soda free. We also have 12 dreamy scents ! We only use essential oils, no fragrance!
