Hydration is not something we typically think of when it comes to our wellness routine, but proper hydration (or lack thereof) can affect our sleep quality, mood, stress levels, and cognitive abilities.
Take a look as the team at Buoy Hydration Daniel Schindler, Cole Puchi, and Eddie Zelenak, talk about the importance of hydration, and how you can enhance your wellness routine with products similar to Buoy!
To be blunt, we started Buoy because we were fed up.
Hydration was becoming synonymous with high sugar and calorie counts, artificial ingredients like maltodextrin and dextrose, alternative sweeteners, and nutritionally sparse salt sources. The industry was literally littered with single-serving plastics and companies not focusing on the people that really need hydration the most.
We knew hydration and wellness could be cleaner, more effective and versatile. We wanted a people and planet-first approach to solving these problems. That’s why we made Buoy.
Hydration is the foundation for any wellness goal—it’s hard to build on top of shaky ground.
Staying properly hydrated is so much more than peak performance. It affects everything from normal immune system functioning to our ability to focus and mood stability—even how smooth our skin is!
Unfortunately, 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated according to the CDC. When ideating around Buoy’s form factor, we optimized for ease, convenience, and efficacy so that a person could hydrate as an afterthought rather than incorporating a new habit.
That’s why we invented the hydrating wellness drop—a full spectrum of electrolytes, ionic trace minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants that dissolve instantly and evenly in every drink.
Our claim to fame is that now you can hydrate with anything—from water to iced coffee and even alcohol!
We spent two years working with our pharmaceutical team to give clean, effective hydration a neutral flavor profile in any drink.
You wake up dehydrated so it’s important to hydrate as soon as you start your day. That’s why my favorite is a hydrating morning mocktail I make with mineral water, lemon, a squeeze of Buoy, and a sprig of mint from my garden. A healthy and creative morning ritual that supports proper brain and nervous system functioning while promoting your body’s natural ability to detox.
I’m a perfectionist, which can be a toxic trait to introduce to how you relate to your own health and wellness.
It’s easy to focus on the traditional health part—macronutrients, what goes in, and how much you’re doing to take it out.
To me, it’s actually better to focus on the broader, wellness side of things: how am I feeling, how I am feeling about the things I do every day, am I giving myself a break? Am I tying my running shoes because I think I have to or, because I want to?
Wellness is so much more than the physical body. For me, associating small habits to feelings of being more deeply rooted connected to my health is the best way to get your daily dose of wellness.
So, small things like stretching, doing yoga, eating leafy greens, or adding hydration drops into my drink have me feeling better than counterbalancing workouts with calories consumed.
